I designed a branded email campaign for the CITGO MDA Golf Tournament that communicated essential event information, reinforced the charitable mission, and directed recipients toward participation and sponsorship opportunities.

The email design extended the visual language of the event microsite into the inbox, giving the campaign a consistent presence across multiple digital touchpoints.

01 · The Challenge

Communicating an entire event inside a crowded inbox

The email needed to capture attention quickly while communicating the purpose of the golf tournament, important event details, and clear ways to participate. The design had to remain useful even when recipients only scanned the message for a few seconds.

It also needed to represent the relationship between CITGO and MDA without allowing competing visual elements to overwhelm the message or obscure the primary call to action.

02 · The Approach

Designing the message around hierarchy and momentum

I structured the email so the most important information appeared early. A strong branded introduction established the event, followed by concise content sections that explained the purpose, presented key details, and guided recipients toward the next step.

Clear calls to action, intentional spacing, readable typography, and modular content helped the message remain organized. The visual treatment complemented the microsite so recipients experienced one connected campaign rather than separate pieces of communication.

03 · The Solution

A branded email built to inform and inspire action

The final email combined event imagery, CITGO brand elements, MDA messaging, essential details, and prominent calls to action within a focused digital layout.

The design was structured to remain clear across common email and mobile screen sizes. Content could be understood quickly while still providing enough context for recipients who wanted to learn more about the event and its charitable purpose.

04 · My Contribution

Extending the campaign beyond the microsite

My contribution included the email’s visual direction, layout, information hierarchy, branded content presentation, and preparation for digital delivery.

I focused on creating an email that felt connected to the larger event campaign while still working effectively as an independent communication piece inside the recipient’s inbox.

05 · The Result

A consistent campaign experience across channels

The email gave the CITGO MDA Golf Tournament a professional and recognizable campaign touchpoint that supported event awareness, participation, and sponsor communication.

Together, the microsite and email design created a more cohesive digital journey. The email introduced the opportunity and encouraged action, while the microsite provided the destination for complete event information.
